NOTE: Clematis seed, if grown from a named variety, will produce offspring that may vary from the mother plant.
The time of germination will also vary, but will not be improved by delaying the sowing.
The good news: this type of orientalis/tangutica clematis is one of the easiest to germinate from seed.
Species clematis and many small-flowered types can germinate in six weeks, but can take a year or more if conditions are not to their liking.
